Kincaid Embraces Tradition with New Introductions
October 2008, Hudson, NC – This Fall, Kincaid is embracing traditional American values with new introductions that will strike a chord with consumers today, while continuing to debut innovative customized programs that propel them into the future. While the current marketplace is fraught with uncertainty, Kincaid’s designers have created two American-crafted collections that are infused with an abundance of architectural elements and design inspirations that will undoubtedly evoke pleasant and fond memories of a simpler time. These collections will be available in retail stores in Spring 2009.
American Heartland is a traditional solid oak bedroom collection that is grounded in down-home sensibilities. The classic oak grain’s characteristics are highlighted with three distinct finishes: an aged Oatmeal, gently worn Slate, and lustrous Harvest. Three bed designs are offered, including a rope carved Poster Bed with a low, curved headboard and carved posts which also have lower (60”) or taller (83”) options to suit a variety of style preferences. The Sleigh Bed is updated with an extra low footboard which gives it a platform feeling. The triple panels and graceful feet provide visual interest. The sturdy design of the Cannonball Bed will give consumers a point of reference when recalling the homey comfort of this style from childhood. Complementing pieces offer traditional inspiration with surprising extra features, which translates to an increased sense of overall value. A Linen Closet provides excellent storage capabilities and features a mirrored front door concealing three tray drawers (one jewelry tray) and an adjustable shelf. The bottom drawer has cedar-lining for delicate items. The Bachelor’s Chest has a pullout laminate shelf, one drawer, and two doors. The 10-door Clothing Chest is a spacious 68x19x60” and includes two vintage-inspired cedar-lined drawers for storage of delicate fabrics.
Continuing on their focus of traditional family values, Kincaid is also introducing Rosecroft, an Arts & Crafts-inspired home collection that includes bedroom, dining, home office, occasional, and upholstery items in a beautifully distressed rich Heirloom finish. An updated version of the customary “Wild Irish Rose” motif is used as a decorative accent on key pieces throughout the collection, and the rectilinear distressed bronze hardware has definite Asian influences. The Rosecroft bedroom offerings include three bed selections that present an array of design options. Also featured is a Bachelor’s Chest which has a flip-up back rail for cord management as well as a touch dimmer to lower the lighting from any lamp that is plugged into it. The Entertainment Bureau and Hutch can comfortably hold a mounted 42” plasma television, and offers hidden jewelry/dvd storage on the end panels. Featuring antiqued glass, it also has two drawers that flip down for additional electronic storage. A beautiful Linen Closet with the rose accent features gently flared legs, a mirrored panel on the inside of the door, three tray drawers (one jewelry tray), an adjustable shelf, and a bottom drawer lined with cedar.
For the dining room, Rosecroft debuts a Rectangular Leg Table with two 20” leaves, a Round Dining Table with one 20” leaf, and a Counter Height Round Table with Tile Top. All pieces have considerable substance in the turned legs and tops, which not only provides a visual focal point, but also creates a foundation to the room’s décor. Two coordinating chair styles are available: the first includes a gently curved backrest, scooped top, and upholstered seats; the second has a supportively curved backrest, a practical handle opening in the top, and upholstered seat. The China Display Hutch and Buffet incorporate beautifully antiqued glass doors with decorative bordered panels which highlight the Wild Irish Rose insignia on the sideview glass. A unique Bar Server is a distinguished and incredibly versatile addition, and could be a useful accent in many areas of the home.
In the living room, Rosecroft offers a Lamp Table with shelf, Chairside Table with magazine rack and one drawer, End Table with one drawer and shelf, and two Rectangular Cocktail Tables with scrolled iron end panels and shelf in two popular sizes. All offer a wealth of storage and organization options to help maintain order in busy family rooms.
This market, Kincaid has also designed a selection of upholstery that correlates beautifully with the Rosecroft casegoods. The Wood End Sofa has a wood base and a comfortable three-over-three seating configuration shown in sumptuous dark brown leather. The Arm Chair and Ottoman are shown in a complementing fabric. The look will instantly transform your home into a casual, cozy, and welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the world outside.
With beautifully designed solid wood casegoods, custom upholstery and leather selections, coordinating top of bed ensembles, and the exclusive Kinetics™ line of plush memory foam mattresses, Kincaid has everything needed to furnish an entire home. Readily available in over 1,000 retail locations in North America, Kincaid has been a trusted and reliable solid wood resource for over 60 years.
